FREEHOLD, N.J. — February 2026 — Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers®, the fast-casual chain known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers and freshly churned frozen custard, is expanding its footprint in New Jersey with a new location set to open in Freehold by summer 2026.
The restaurant will be located near West Main Street, directly in front of the Walmart store, according to company officials. Freddy’s is currently navigating the permitting process and expects to begin construction in the coming months.
Expanding in the Garden State
The Freehold location will join Freddy’s existing New Jersey restaurants in Burlington, Cinnaminson, Holmdel, Linden, North Brunswick, and Toms River. While no additional sites have been confirmed, the company says it continues to explore opportunities for further expansion across the state.
What to Expect on the Menu
Freddy’s menu centers around steakburgers cooked to order, paired with seasoned shoestring fries and a variety of sides, including cheese curds, onion rings, and chili cheese fries. Burger options range from the Prime Rib Steakburger to a classic patty melt and a veggie burger. Guests can also enjoy chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and chicken tenders.
On the sweet side, Freddy’s offers premium frozen custard, churned fresh throughout the day. Signature desserts include the Signature Turtle Sundae, Chocolate Brownie Delight, and the OREO Custard Sandwich. Custard is available in pints and quarts for takeout, along with a variety of shakes and build-your-own options.
A Legacy of Hospitality
Founded in 2002 by brothers Bill and Randy Simon and their friend Scott Redler, Freddy’s was named in honor of their father, Freddy Simon, a World War II veteran who spent 56 years in the hospitality industry. The brand has grown to over 560 locations across the United States and Canada, earning national recognition for its commitment to quality and guest experience.
